A surreal thriller that swoops into the world of myth then settles on the post-Chernobyl landscape of the twentieth century. A sinister Mr. Deal organises a campaign of terror and intrigue. He will stop at nothing to silence Dr C. whose apocalyptic vision of the effects of radiation is proving disruptive. Like Cassandra, she becomes increasingly isolated, and to some she is “a woman sounding the alarm before the fire”.
